Gianni Truvianni’s “south Africa 2010”, Cristiano Ronaldo Disappointing In Portugal’s 0-0 Draw Versus Ivory Coast

In a game that lacked both excitement as well as quality, Portugal and Ivory Coast played to a scoreless draw which left much to be desired from both teams. It being a match in which Portugal got off to a fast start yet was not able to score. Cristiano Ronaldo coming ever close with a shot which hit the post yet went out for a goal kick for Ivory. As for the rest of the game, there was little to suggest that either team wanted more than the draw they eventually got which should favor the team who should win tonight’s match between Brazil and North Korea..
for Cristiano Ronaldo, it can be said that he showed very little if any of the qualities which has led many to consider him the world’s best player; in a performance which more often than not saw him attempt solo runs that produced very little. Ivory Coast, for its part played on a par with Portugal and perhaps would have won had Drogba not attempted to pass a ball in the penalty box which in all truth he should have shot. This chance coming very late in the game which would have given Ivory Coast a win yet as it stands they got their first point in their world cup history.

In conclusion, I would say the game’s results was fair yet should make the upcoming matches for both teams all the more important; as their qualification will depend on what they can do against both North Korea and Brazil.

good looks combined with his awesome repertoire of Cristiano Ronaldo soccer tricks and a hint of trademarked Cristiano Ronaldo goals made him reach the level of fame on which he is basking in the spotlight sun today.

Cristiano Ronaldo Biography – Youth Clubs

Born in Madeira to a family where soccer was cherished, Cristiano Ronaldo started playing for a local amateur youth team called Andorinha, where his father handled the equipment and acted as a kit man.

Cristiano was 8 when he joined Andorinha and by the time he was 10, he already sparked the curiosity of some of Portugal's biggest clubs. This led him to sign for the local first-division team CD Nacional, where he would join the youth club and immediately make an impact, helping his team win the youth championship the following year.

After just 1 year at Nacional, he was offered a youth contract by bigwigs Sporting Lisbon, who are internationally renowned for having one of the best youth training facilities in the World.

The young player fit right in at Sporting and started scoring regularly, although he was way too fond on his dribble at that point. Despite this short coming, he was taken in to various levels of the Portugal national youth squad, finally getting his big break at the UEFA under 17 Championship in 2001.

His great performance there drew the eyes of Liverpool's scouts, but Ronaldo was just 16 years old and the Liverpool officials decided he needs more time in the Portuguese league before they sign him.

Cristiano Ronaldo Biography – Sporting Lisbon

Being taken in the senior squad of Sporting meant the young player's first contact with professional football. Although he didn't play regularly, the few moments that he did get on the pitch were greeted with cheers from the Sporting fans, who loved Cristiano Ronaldo's soccer tricks. In 2 seasons with Sporting's senior squad, Ronaldo got to play 28 matches, scoring 3 times before he was picked up by Manchester United's scouts, at age 18.

Cristiano Ronaldo Biography – Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson, manager and coach of Manchester United desperately needed a quality right midfielder in 2003, as David Beckham had just left the club for Real Madrid.

Bringing an 18-year old Portuguese player to replace an international super-star like Beckham didn't seem like a good idea at first, but from his first season Cristiano Ronaldo's goals proved decisive and he quickly gained the love of the Red Devils' fans.

In his following seasons at Manchester, with more and more trust coming from Sir Alex Ferguson and the team's fans, Cristiano Ronaldo developed into an extraordinary player that is now feared by even the sturdiest defenders out there.

Despite the fact that he is just 22 years of age right now, Cristiano Ronaldo already has 208 professional matches and 53 goals (190 matches and 50 goals for Manchester, the others for Sporting) and 46 caps in the national squad, with a tally of 17 goals for Portugal. Impressive stats for such a youngster.

The best part is that with each passing year Cristiano Ronaldo improves his game even further, so don't be surprised if in a couple of years he steps up to become the greatest footballer in activity.

English Football - Manchester United Conquers Premier League Title

For the third consecutive time, the Manchester United has appropriated the trophy of the English Premier League; this time the team obtained it after facing Arsenal in match that although finished without goals, helped the red devils to reach one more point to add a total of 87 which was enough for them to get the championship since their closest pursuer is Liverpool which has 83 points and with only one game left in the competition, they do not have opportunity to reach them.
it is a very touching triumph which has a great significance for the team directed by Sir Alex Ferguson, since with this trophy they ascend to 18 titles obtained in most prestigious league in the English football, thus reaching Liverpool’s record, that has the same amount of titles. This is the third great celebration for the Manchester United during the present season; they have also obtained the FIFA Club World Cup and the League Cup. In addition, the team could add one more honour this year since they will defend last year’s UEFA Champions League title next Wednesday May, 27th when they face the Spain champion, Barcelona FC.

The meeting between the Gunners and the Red Devils, that took place at the Old Trafford, initiated with the local team, Manchester, fully prepared to give a strong fight with the objective of reaching the point needed to retain their title. Manchester’s stars Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney were the ones in charge of the actions at their team, which despite its superiority did not get in the comfort zone at any moment of the game.

The pressure from both teams was mutual and constant; they were attacking each other with shots in the goal areas, which were well defended by Edwin van der Sar and Lukasz Fabianski respectively. Although there were no goals in the game, it was an enjoyable show full of good football where both teams struggled to remain firm.

During the first half, the attempts to open the score were more common from Manchester. In one of those occasions, the star Cristiano Ronaldo received a pass from Darren Fletcher and sent it straight to the goal of Fabianski, but Gunners defender Alexandre Song diverted the ball away, along with the illusions of their opponents. Another who had a chance to score was Wayne Rooney, but again, Arsenal did not allow it.

For the second part, the heated match continued with pressure from both teams, but at this time of the game, it was the Arsenal who tried to take control of the field, making some dangerous plays which Manchester United knew how to repel since they changed their game strategy to strengthen their defence so the red devils remained firm, not allowing the visitors to get closer to their area, which was well protected by Park Ji-Sung with the help of Brazilian midfielder Anderson.

In this way, Ferguson’s squad resisted the threats of an Arsenal that appeared dangerous and threatening, but that in the end it was shadowed by the imposing figure of a team that shines with its own light and that has earned in a great fashion and effort the honor to be considered as one of the best football clubs in the world.

Signed Ji-sung Park Man United Shirt Being Given Away For Charity

Few have not heard of Ji-Sung Park, the Korean superstar dubbed the “Shaggy Haired-One” of UK Premiership team Manchester United. Park rose to international stardom in 2002, scoring goals against England and France during international friendlies in May, preceding the World Cup of 2002. During the World Cup, he scored the winning goal in South Korea's match against Portugal . His first professional contract was at J-League's Kyoto Purple Sanga in 2000, and he was the first Korean footballer ever to go straight to the J-League without going through the K-League. He was arguably the most influential player of the team by 2002 and following his stellar performance World Cup that year, it was evident that the J-League was too small a stage for Park.
international career began as a defensive midfielder at age 18. When Guus Hiddink became the head coach of South Korea, Park’s position was changed to winger. Since then, Park is considered to be versatile player who can play in a range of positions, from wing-back to central midfield. After the World Cup, Park was recruited to PSV Eindhoven, to play under his mentor and former national team coach Hiddink. Unlike his compatriot Young-Pyo Lee, who rapidly became a fixture in PSV Eindhoven's starting lineup, Park struggled and a few poor performances which unfortunately saw him being boo-ed by some of the PSV fans.

By the end of 2003-2004 season, Park had adapted to The Netherlands, he quickly proved his worth to the team forming the backbone of PSV Eindhoven's midfield play with fellow Korean Young-Pyo Lee and Dutchmen Mark van Bommel and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink. Park’s energetic movement created havoc against all opponents at all areas of the field, both offensively and defensively. His PSV career highlight came he scored the first goal against AC Milan at the Champions League semi-finals.

Park was scouted by Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United by the end of the 2005 season who believed that Park's energetic style of play and outstanding fitness could be the foundation his flagging Manchester United side needed. Also, with the aging of Ryan Giggs and the relatively inexperienced Cristiano Ronaldo on the right wing, Park was sought after, in order to keep the Manchester United midfield fresh but also provide experience to a mostly young team. In July 2005, Ji-Sung Park signed a four-year contract with Manchester United for four million pounds.

As anticipated, Park impressed fans during Manchester United's pre-season tour of the Far East, as well as in the first game of the season against Everton with his tireless, energetic roaming of the pitch and pressuring of opponents, such that Ferguson picked him over Ryan Giggs and the popular Cristiano Ronaldo against Aston Villa on 20th August the following week. His lack of composure in front of goal is considered his main weakness as he has, on many occassions, come close to scoring but he has opted to pass the ball to his other team-mates. Park has been renowned for his good attitude and strong work ethic which have helped him excel for both club and country. His fitness is known to rival that of a marathon runner, and his former teammates at PSV Eindhoven have jokingly suggested that Park plays with an oxygen tank strapped to his back.

Ji-Sung Park’s unofficial website is soon hosting a charity contest where fans can win a genuine Man United shirt, hand-signed by Park, worth hundreds of pounds. Every person who enters- needs to donate 2 pounds & predict how many goals in total Park will have scored for Man United in all competitions by the end of the season. All money raised is being given to a local South Korean charity- a football academy for deprived youngsters, in conjunction with the famous South Korean team: Suwon Bluewings, the famous football club, from where Park is from and was born.
